Over the summer Hercules and Bella were curious about their heritage - they pondered about who they were and their roles as mascots. After several clues, they came across a message that suggested they head off on a journey to a far and distant land in search of answers to these mysteries.

Hercules and Bella set off on their journey; they travelled with no idea of where this journey was going to take them. One night as the tired mascots slept…

Out of nowhere a claret and blue meteor lands in the middle of the ground which obviously disturbs the sleeping mascots. They make their way down to the landing site and approach the crater with trepidation until they’re standing right over the edge, but the hole is surrounded by a claret and blue force field. They can hear something through it and can see a silhouette but can’t make anything else out. Bravely, they decide to step through the force field and instantly find themselves surrounded by dancing beams of claret and blue light and there in the middle, they notice a cub.

Fearing that something might be wrong, Hercules takes Bella by the hand and reaches over to grab the cub. At the very moment he grabs the cub the dancing beams of claret and blue start circling the trio with greater intensity, they’re moving really quick and there’s sound too – a kind of crackling of electricity. This goes on for a couple of minutes, getting faster and louder until nothing. Absolute silence and darkness. Suddenly Bella notices something glowing on her wrist; she quickly glances over to Hercules and the cub and notices the same thing. Each has a claret and blue chequer wrist band. But it doesn’t stop there, Hercules has changed, he’s bigger and there’s a claret and blue streak in his hair. Bella too has the same streak. Then all of a sudden they can hear a voice.

“You are the descendants of a special group that first arrived at Villa Park in 1874. You have a very important role to fulfil. You need to protect the team and the fans on the long season ahead. To help you all I’ve given each of you super powers; Bella, you can leap as high as a building; Hercules, you’re so strong you can pick up a building. And the cub you’re holding; he’s Chip, and he has the power of super speed. But he needs your guidance and direction. If you work as a team, you can summon the force of Aston Villa by joining your wrist bands together. But remember with these powers come great responsibility and you must uphold Aston Villa’s values at all time.

“Now, my Villa heroes, return to Villa Park and fulfil your duty; encourage as many young fans as you can to support you as this will increase the strength of the force.”

As soon as our heroes returned to Villa Park, they each raised their arms and together as one, connected their wrist bands and with that a claret and blue force field appeared around Villa Park.
